After many years of fussing with matched sets of quilts and spreads and comforters, I finally went back to the basics with this no-frills item.Can't say I like it much...prefer to say I like it VERY much!The matelasse weave has the appealing look of raised quilted fabric, without all the typical quilt stitching that always seems to come apart. Only time will tell, but the fabric appears to be durable and closely woven to resist thread pulls. The cover is substantial, but not too heavy. That makes it ideal for all seasons. It doesn't slip off the bed, but is easy to remove and fold up on occasion. The color choice is definitely a neutral, but it works great with the room decor and furnishings. Best of all, it works great with nearly any other color of bedding items already in the linen closet. Very pleased with this purchase.
